Position Summary:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial functions related to insurance operations and primary duties include financial close activities.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for monthly financial close activities including preparation of journal entries.
  • Ensure proper documentation and supporting schedules for all financial transactions.
  • Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts and verify that all reconciling items are researched and resolved
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variances analyses for management reporting.
  • Assist in documenting internal processes/controls and developing improvements as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Process return premium payments.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Accounting degree required
  • P&C Insurance Industry Experience preferred
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including nested formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Index Match.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and interact effectively with various management levels.
  • Excellent prioritization and follow-through skills.
