Position Description: The Senior Claims Specialist is responsible for the coverage analysis, investigation, negotiation and resolution of complex and excess casualty claims. 

 

 

Qualifications:
•    3-7 years of claims experience handling excess and complex casualty claims. Experience in general liability claims including bodily injury, property damage, New York Labor Law, public sector and/or construction matters preferred.  
•    Experience with evaluating complex risk transfer issues.
•    Experience handling high exposure cases through resolution.
•    Ability to monitor claims handled by an underlying insurer or third-party administrator.
•    Ability to write coverage letters and work with coverage counsel, as needed.
•    Experience handling claims on a nationwide basis.
•    Ability to travel to mediations and trials, as required.
•    Must possess good writing and presentation skills.
•    Must be able to effectively partner with our internal and external stakeholders.
•    Bachelor’s degree required, JD preferred.

 

In New York City, NY the pay range for the role is 100,000-140,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  In addition, Hudson/Odyssey offers a comprehensive benefits package. This range is specific to New York City, NY and may not be applicable to other locations.
