Position Summary:  The Policy Processing Supervisor position will be responsible for the staff management of the Policy Processing team to achieve the collective goals of the PUMB organization. The Policy Processing Manager is a “hands on” manager who will manage, mentor, train and day-to-day oversight of the policy processing team.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Selects, trains, and develops an effective high performing team. Responsible for direct management of employees, which includes: hiring, performance management, coaching, evaluating performance, development, assigns tasks and sets objectives.
  • Help develop, manage, and execute Personal Lines policy processing strategy
  • Works with the Head of PUMB, other Policy Processing Managers and their supervisor to manage and administer policies, procedures and practices to drive efficiency, consistency and profitable growth.
  • Constantly seeks ways to improve business processes and workflow in collaboration with other managers, supervisors, the Head of PUMB and the Operations Manager
  • Manages and executes daily business objectives with reference to budget, customer service, production, and business plan objectives
  • Develops the skills of policy processing team to help drive growth
  • Keeps abreast of regulatory rulings, industry trends and legal developments, which affect underwriting practices.
  • Manages process guidelines and practices set forth by the Head of PUMB.
  • Measures policy processing effectiveness through monthly reporting of key metrics and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and the Underwriting team on end to end underwriting and service processes to ensure efficient, profitable, and accurate outcomes.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize and control work environment

 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Intimate working knowledge of the Personal Lines Property and Casualty insurance industry including underwriting practices, pricing, product, and competitive analysis
  • In depth experience developing, leading, and retaining a highly qualified processing and/or customer servicing team.
  • Strong personal and business ethics consistent with the company’s core values
  • Demonstrated record of success in staff management
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • A hands-on management style and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to drive results.
  • Proven decision making capabilities.

Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Experience with process documentation
