Position Description: This is a 10-week summer internship program running from June 1 to August 7, 2026. This role is for candidates currently pursuing a college or university degree with an accredited institution and consists of on-the-job learning, along with a final presentation, in addition to any department-specific projects and tasks. The Claims Intern will have the opportunity to support the Claims team across a broad swath of initiatives including general file maintenance, detailed analyses of various commercial auto claims, and ad-hoc projects. No prior knowledge of insurance is necessary. To complete your application, please include a cover letter (no more than 300 words).

 

Essential Duties:

  • Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the Claims team.
  • Assist with subrogation recoveries and bill back expenses within the Self Insured Retention to client.
  • Assist with identifying files with an incurred of over $500K to track large loss reporting.
  • Assist with identifying files over reporting threshold for Reinsurance.
  • Ensure reports are properly labelled and stored in the file.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Excel experience preferred.
  • Customer service skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn.
  • Ability to work on a collaborative team.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Rising junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
  • All majors welcome.

 

Interns will work in-person during the work week from the New York City office located at 100 William Street, following a typical office schedule of a 9am-5pm working day, allowing for a 1-hour lunch break. The pay range for this role is $20-30/hr.
