Position Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Operations Lead to work at the intersection of finance, technology, and operations, driving process improvements, ensuring accurate and timely close activities, including SOX compliance. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of financial operations, including billing and reinsurance.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Lead Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day finance operations including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Documentation & Governance: Establish clear, accessible documentation for all financial processes, calculations, and reporting logic.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, IT, and Data Engineering to ensure data integrity and consistent process execution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices in financial operations, controls, and system utilization to drive efficiency and accuracy across the team.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field; CPA or MBA a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years in financial operations, accounting, or financial systems management.
    • Strong experience with data flows from source system to ledger, including SOX
    • Demonstrated experience modernizing or automating finance processes.
  • Skills:
    • Deep understanding of financial close processes and controls.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven ability to translate complex calculations and processes into clear, maintainable documentation.

 

In New York City, NY the pay range for this role is $160,000-180,000. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This range is specific to New York City, NY and may not be applicable to other locations.
