Position Summary:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial functions related to insurance operations and primary duties include financial close activities.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for monthly financial close activities including preparation of journal entries.
  • Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts and verify that all reconciling items are researched and resolved.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variances analysis for management reporting.
  • Assist in documenting internal processes/controls and developing improvements as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Liaison with managing general agents and third-party administrators.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Accounting degree required.
  • P&C Insurance Industry Experience preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including nested formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Index Match.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and interact effectively with various management levels.
  • Excellent prioritization and follow-through skills.

 

In New York City, NY the pay range for the role is $80,000 - $100,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. In addition, Hudson offers a comprehensive benefits package. This range is specific to New York City, NY and may not be applicable to other locations.

 

In Pittsburgh, PA the pay range for the role is $70,000 - $90,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. In addition, Hudson offers a comprehensive benefits package. This range is specific to Pittsburgh, PA and may not be applicable to other locations.
