The livestock operations specialist is a genuine and committed team player who pays attention to detail and is results oriented. They are integral to the smooth and effective functioning of a company’s operations. The LOS will work closely with different departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination across teams. Contribute significantly to organizational success.

Job Responsibilities 

• The primary role is to support the day-to-day operations of the Livestock department.
• Training & communications – assist in the training and coaching of agents and staff on new systems, procedures and best practices. Provide support for agent communications including emails, the company website and other marketing materials. Education resources & support for producers.
• Implement new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Development of tools – gather agent feedback for new and enhancements to existing tools.
• May include any ad hoc projects and assisting other departments as necessary.

• Agriculture Industry Background / Experience
• Strong work ethic

• Time management & organizational Skills
• Project management
• Knowledge or the ability to learn crop insurance rules and procedures. Review of LPRA policies, handbooks and other crop insurance manuals.
• Professional communication skills, emails, memos, and phone calls.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or two (2)+ years of agriculture experience focusing on pork production, beef production or dairy production industries.
