Summary:

The Swine Sales & Account Manager  is responsible for actively recruiting, contracting, agency on-boarding and servicing of Tier 3 and Tier 4 LOMA agencies with an emphasis on the swine industry. (Agency Volume range is from approximately $10 million to $1 million/agency in these two groups)

This person will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and network contacts within the swine industry. You would be the relationship manager for these agencies growing and retaining business while maintaining program profitability. In addition, he/she would facilitate and coordinate training for livestock products, eharvest processing system, claims, and compliance procedures. Maintain communication on key topics such as capacity management. In addition to providing livestock program and marketplace knowledge to Livestock Marketing Director, regional managers, underwriters, finance team, and claims.

Essential Duties:

  • Identifying, qualifying and actively recruiting  livestock agencies in the marketplace with an emphasis on swine.  May also work with some beef agencies.
  • Agency contracting, establishing and managing assigned capacity amounts
  • Follow describe communication plan to build and maintain relationships and keep agents informed of key topics throughout the year.
  • Partner with Marketing Director-Livestock and other livestock departments on tactical and strategic ideas to stay up to date on industry trends.
  • Ability to coordinate with other teams and departments to properly train and on board agencies.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by department manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of livestock industry—including but not limited to dairy, swine and cattle.  Major emphasis should be in area of swine including understanding of production cycles, vertical integration of the industry, key players and have existing network contact within the swine industry.
  • Understanding of futures/options, CME related trading strategies and forward contracting of commodities.
  • Knowledge of livestock brokerage market and/or multi line agencies with strong livestock knowledge and desire to grow in the industry.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in analyzing facts and arriving at conclusions.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in establishing, applying and interpreting policies and procedures.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with all external and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, timeliness and responsiveness.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to plan and organize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Team player willing to engage, support and mentor other team members.
  • Maintains confidentiality of company-sensitive data
