Position Summary: The Digital Health Underwriter within Hudson Healthcare is responsible for the underwriting and servicing of Ancillary Digital Health accounts nationwide.
Essential Duties:
- Underwrites new and renewal business to achieve desired financial results.
- Performs analyses including risk selection, loss experience, risk exposure, terms and contract conditions, pricing, financial review of clients to identify potential and profitable clients.
- Identifies potential exposures in relation to coverage being requested and individual risk characteristics.
- Adheres to current underwriting policy, practices, standards and procedures when negotiating on behalf of the Healthcare business unit.
- Interacts with Actuarial on risk pricing, Claims on analysis of loss experience and Risk Management on risk selection.
- Reviews and fine-tune quotes and binders and reviews policies for accuracy.
- Prepares for and attends individual risk underwriting meetings with clients, prospects and brokers.
- Travels as needed to develop and maintain beneficial broker relationships and to develop new business opportunities.
- Identifies and develops broker relationships and appropriate prospects.
- Supports the training and development of underwriting colleagues.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry events and technical development.
- Represents Hudson professionally whether internally or externally at broker/agent offices and at industry events.
- Maintains account analysis and all related underwriting documentation in online policy files and ensures the contents of those file folders meet department standards.
- Underwrites multiple lines of business including PL, GL, Products, Tech E&O and Tech Products, and Cyber coverages
- Is familiar with Digital Health, Telemedicine, and Telehealth industries or possess a strong desire to learn about these fields

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a major/concentration in Business, Economics or Management.
- 3 to 5 years of underwriting experience handling primary medical malpractice or Tech E&O and Cyber liability coverages for various types of businesses within the Digital Health field (e.g. Remote Patient Monitoring, Live Video, Store & Forward, Technology Companies, Mobile Health.)
- Strong relationships with medical malpractice or Cyber and Technology brokers is beneficial.
In New York City, NY the pay range for the role is 100,000-150,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. In addition, Hudson/Odyssey offers a comprehensive benefits package. This range is specific to New York City, NY and may not be applicable to other locations.
