Qualified candidates will participate in the following:

 

  • Mentorship with senior leaders across the company
  • Two-week Reinsurance Fundamentals course
  • Tools, resources and monetary incentives to obtain an actuarial designation through the Casualty Actuarial Society.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Work alongside actuaries and underwriters to analyze the profit potential of treaty reinsurance proposals while using  sound actuarial pricing principles and methodologies
  • Clearly communicate pricing results to underwriters, and senior company management and external clients
  • Develop new pricing models and improve upon existing models using the best tools available for the job
  • Work on special projects within the department and across Odyssey Group, as necessary
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with underwriters, customers and business partners to provide high quality service to clients

 

Skills, Knowledge & Ability:

 

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills; heavy focus on mathematical coursework a plus
  • A self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to influence, overcome obstacles and develop positive business relationships
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office, data visualization and analytics products
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi task/prioritize

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Risk Management or a related field of study, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Internship/work experience during college years
  • Completion of P, FM a plus.
