Position Summary

The Management Reporting & Analysis (MR&A) Senior Analyst supports the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual consolidated management and operating results, as well as consolidated reporting under U.S. GAAP, U.S. Statutory, and IFRS frameworks.

 

Consistent with the evolving MR&A mandate, this role is not limited to compiling results. The Senior Analyst is expected to act as an analytical owner and steward of management reporting, developing a deep understanding of underlying performance drivers, identifying issues and inconsistencies, and delivering clear, credible, and decision‑useful insights to senior leadership.

 

The role will also contribute directly to the modernization of management reporting, supporting the transition from manual, late‑cycle processes to earlier, more analytical, and more automated reporting enabled by modern BI tools.

 

Essential Duties

  • Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual consolidated management and operating results, with challenging of divisional analytical accuracy, clarity, and narrative quality
  • Support executive level reporting deliverables, including President’s Report, Audit Committee, Employee Webinar, and Planning & Forecasting related materials
  • Move beyond aggregation to actively review, challenge, and synthesize inputs, identifying trends, risks, and inconsistencies across results
  • Develop and maintain high quality management commentary that is consistent across reporting cycles, clearly linked to underlying financial and operational drivers and challenged by MR&A rather than pass through content from contributors.
  • Update, maintain, and enhance core financial models (e.g., GAAP/Stat, capital related models) with a focus on analytical usefulness
  • Contribute to the modernization of the reporting stack, including – supporting the migration from spreadsheet heavy reporting to standardized, automated, and interactive reporting solutions, developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools, and improving timeliness and reducing late cycle pressure through better structure and tooling.
  • Partner closely with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to build understanding of the underlying business, not just reported outputs
  • Support ad hoc analyses and projects that advance reporting quality, accountability, and insight

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to effectively interpret and challenge divisional  results, not just compile them
  • Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency with modern reporting and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Ability to develop clear, structured financial narratives for senior and executive audiences
  • Solid understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance accounting and how financial results reflect underlying business activity
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, U.S. Statutory, and IFRS reporting standards
  • Comfort challenging inputs, asking “why,” and engaging constructively with stakeholders on results and assumptions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in explaining complex financial outcomes
  • High standards for accuracy, consistency, and accountability in reporting

 

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Three to five years of experience in accounting, finance or management reporting
  • Insurance and/or reinsurance experience preferred
