Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst Tableau Developer with a strong background in data analysis and visualization, particularly in the insurance and reinsurance domain. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise and analytical acumen, enabling them to develop insightful Tableau dashboards while effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This role requires a self-starter who can work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and other data analysts, to deliver high-quality solutions that drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise-level Tableau dashboards tailored to the specific needs of insurance and reinsurance stakeholders.
  • Utilize strong data analysis skills to understand complex insurance and reinsurance datasets, including relevant terminology and calculations.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriters, actuaries, and C-level executives to gather requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and other related activities.
  • Independently initiate and drive projects, taking ownership of the end-to-end development process from data extraction and transformation to final dashboard deployment.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, presenting insights derived from visualizations in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure data pipelines are optimized for reporting and visualization needs.
  • Keep direct supervisor and relevant teams up to date on project progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Actively contribute to refining data visualization best practices within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in data analysis, visualization, and development using Tableau, preferably in the insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance terminology, metrics, and calculations.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with C-level executives, underwriters, actuaries, and technical teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with demonstrated sense of urgency.
  • Thoughtful, pragmatic, agile and commercial approach to development 
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with insurance-related data tools and technologies is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with business users to gather and refine requirements is highly desired.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
